Rubble, The World’s Oldest Living Cat, Turns 32

Our cats may be the most dramatic, moody, downright mean beings in our lives, but let’s get one thing straight— we love them more than life itself.

If it weren’t for the inevitable scourge of mortality, our cats would 100% be our life partners.

Unfortunately, pet life spans are normally a far bit shorter than our own, and it can be unbearable to part with our furry friends.

Elder cats are straight up legends in the pet community.

My orange ginger cat lived till he was twenty-one years old. Twenty-one.

The average cat lifespan for indoor cats is 12-18 years, so anything over that is nothing less than impressive.

Meet Rubble— the world’s oldest living cat.

Rubble was born in May of 1988, which means that he is currently celebrating his 32nd birthday!

He lives with his owner Michelle Foster in Exeter, Devon, England.

He was originally a gift for Michelle’s 20th birthday.

The feline who previously held the title of oldest living cat was Creme Puff who passed away at age 38 and still holds the record for the oldest a cat has ever lived.

Rubble is a pretty healthy lad.

He apparently takes medication for high blood pressure, but things aren’t going to be running purrrfectly when you’re over 140 years old in cat years.

“He’s a lovely cat, although he has got a little grumpy in his old age.”

Michelle is extremely proud of her not-so-baby boy’s achievements over the years.

Happy Birthday Rubble!
